Mark is a former student-athlete having moved to the United States after his contract with Stoke City Football Club ended.


He went out on a scholarship at Colorado Christian University, and after coming back to play back in Ireland, he then went back out to the U.S. as a transfer student, finishing his studies and college soccer days at Metro State University in Denver. Mark went on to hold various coaching positions withing Denver after graduating before becoming the Graduate Assistant at Colorado Christian University, where he completed a Master's Degree in Business Administration. 

Following a year as an Assistant Coach at Metro State, he moved back to Northern Ireland in 2017, and is currently coaching at Glenavon Academy. Mark holds coaching qualifications from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) - “B” and “Youth” Licenses – and is currently completing his UEFA “B” license through the IFA. Coming on board with SMUSA, Mark will be part of the scouting team at SMUSA, and will be coaching at our assessment days and showcase events.
