Success Story: Nick Mulvaney - William Carey University Alumni

In SMUSA's latest instalment of their success stories, we managed to sit down and talk with Chicago City Soccer Club executive director and founder Nick Mulvaney - who enjoyed a successful four years at William Carey University.

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Nick Mulvaney attained a scholarship at the age of 18 with NAIA powerhouse William Carey University.

After four successful years with WCU, in which he captained the team in his junior and senior year, Mulvaney went on to play and coach in the U.S. and then in England before moving to Chicago.

After a coaching role with Chicago Lakefront Attack SC, Mulvaney went on to set up Chicago City SC, and was determined to deliver a sporting club for the city.

Over the last eight years, Mulvaney and his staff have grown the club to what it is today, including having partnerships with the likes of German giants Bayern Munich.

SMUSA were delighted to be able to sit down and talk with Mulvaney about his time as a student-athlete and his journey after graduating from William Carey.
